This educational course is organised as part of the TB PAN-NET project that is funded by the EU 7th Framework Programme Network of Excellence to combat the multidrug‐resistant tuberculosis (MDR‐TB) that faces Europe.
The TB PAN-NET project aims to integrate and coordinate the activities of physicians and scientists from many institutions in 27 European countries to address the challenge of MDR‐TB by establishing a network of expert partners who possess extensive experience in the conduct of basic and clinical research related to MDR‐TB, TB control and molecular epidemiology.

This educational course is organised through the clinical research collaboration of the ERS. TBNET is an European research peer group in the field of TB. Recent results from TBNET have an important impact on the diagnosis and treatment of patients with TB including patients with MDR-TB and extensively drug-resistant (XDR)-TB. Please visit the official

A limited number of bursaries, covering either full attendance or registration only, will be available to selected applicants under 40 years of age who are members of the ERS and TB PAN-NET and from countries with economies in transition. Selection from the pool of applicants will be made by the organising committee based on the submission of:
