Sir John Vane Award for Innovation in Pulmonary Vascular Research

  • You published a paper within the last 2 years in a peer-reviewed journal?
  • Your paper is in Pulmonary Vascular Research related to Pulmonary Hypertension?
  • You are 45 years of age or under (at the time of the application deadline)?

Through the support of UTEL, the ERS offers a Grant of €2,500. The Sir John Vane Award for Innovation in Pulmonary Vascular Research related to Pulmonary Hypertension aims to encourage a generation of new and visionary scientists in their quest to understand and make an impact in basic science / research in the field of pulmonary hypertension (PH).  The Grant is supported by United Therapeutics Europe, Ltd., in the memory of Sir John Vane: an incredible scientist who, through his enthusiasm and unfailing thirst for knowledge, paved the way for the work in inflammation and pain with aspirin and the discovery that it inhibited the biosynthesis of prostaglandin, which earned him the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine in 1982. This prize will be given to the best recent publication on pulmonary vascular research that furthers our scientific understanding of the pharmacology, biology, genetics, or pathophysiology of pulmonary hypertension.

 

Paediatrics Lifetime Achievement Award

Main criteria for candidates:

  • You are an ERS member of the Assembly Paediatrics for at least 10 years?
  • You are 55 years of age or above (at the time of the application deadline)?
  • You achieved outstanding Paediatric contribution and research?

Notification of selection will be sent in May 2010.

Through the support of Merck & Co, the ERS offers an Achievement Award of €1,000 to a researcher who has made outstanding scientific/research contribution in respiratory sector of paediatrics.

 

Allied Respiratory Professionals Congress Travel Grants

  • You are a healthcare professional working in respiratory medicine?
  • You are a non MD?
  • You submitted an abstract to the ERS Annual Congress?

Through the support of ResMed Asia Pacific, the ERS offers two grants of €700 to a healthcare professional (non-MD) working in respiratory medicine, to attend the ERS Annual Congress.
