Two awards of €15,000 and €4,000, sponsored by AstraZeneca, will be given to successful candidates who have conducted original research during the previous two years in paediatric respiratory medicine. The award is open to any researcher currently working in Europe in paediatric respiratory medicine, who is under 40 years of age at the time of submission and has not previously won the 1st prize. Submissions will be judged by the Long Range Planning Committee of the ERS Paediatric Assembly.

The François Brenot Award, a €1,000 award sponsored by AstraZeneca, is offered each year at the ERS Congress to the most promising young investigator in pulmonary vascular sciences, who is under 35 years of age and whose presentation is judged to be outstanding. The application deadline was February 21, 2008.
