Financial Support

ERS Sponsorship

A limited number of sponsorship opportunities are available to the corresponding author of an accepted abstract from Eastern and Central European countries and developing countries. The ERS offers two levels of sponsorship, Gold and Silver, which are awarded depending on the quality of the abstract as evaluated by the Scientific Programme Committee.
  • Gold Sponsorship: a fixed amount to cover travel and accommodation expenses, free Congress registration and two Postgraduate Courses;
  • Silver Sponsorship: a fixed amount to cover accommodation expenses, free Congress registration and two Postgraduate Courses.

All authors of accepted abstracts who are eligible for sponsorship will receive a sponsorship application form along with notification of acceptance of their abstract.

ERS Young Scientist Sponsorship

In addition, the ERS is pleased to support a limited number of young scientists attending the ERS Annual Congress. The ERS Young Scientist Sponsorship is intended for young scientists from all countries, who are non-medical doctors, and who would not normally receive support from pharmaceutical companies to attend the Congress. The €600 grant, intended to cover travel, accommodation, and registration to the Berlin Congress, is granted to the presenting author of the selected abstract. Applicants for ERS Young Scientist Sponsorship should be aged 35 years or under on September 18, 2010 and hold a PhD with no medical degree. Application must be made on the electronic abstract submission form. To apply, please indicate by checking the appropriate box when submitting an abstract.

The application deadline will be February 25, 2010.

ERS Sponsorship will be granted to the authors of the best abstracts based on the reviewers' scores and comments. Candidates were informed of the Scientific Programme Committee's decision in June 2010.
