  • You are an ERS member?
  • You are 45 years of age or under (at the time of the application deadline) ?
  • You published a paper, as first or last author, within the past 18 months, in a peer reviewed journal?

Closing date for applications is February 25, 2010. Notification of selection will be sent in May 2010.

The award is dedicated to the memory of Prof. A. Maurizio Vignola (1964-2004), for his outstanding contribution to the field of respiratory medicine. It is aimed as a best publication award. The scope of the research to be considered will be in the area of respiratory medicine and will focus on the basic mechanisms in respiratory diseases. Original research should not have been previously sponsored by pharmaceutical industries.


Vienna 2009 Awards

Paolo Chiesi and Peter Barnes were honored to present Georgios T. Stathopoulos' award at the ERS Annual Congress in Vienna, Austria, at the beggining of the Scientific Year in Review session at 14:45 on Tuesday, September 15, 2009 in Room D3.

Awarded to Dr Georgios T. Stathopoulos, Athens, Greece, in recognition of his outstanding contribution to research in Respiratory Medicine.




Berlin 2008 Awards

This award was presented at the ERS Annual Congress in Berlin, Germany, at the beginning of the Scientific Year in Review session having taken place at 08:30 on Sunday, October 5, 2008 in Room 1.2a.

Awarded to Dr Dominik Hartl, Muenchen, Germany, in recognition of his outstanding contribution to research in Respiratory Medicine.
