Are you are interested in funding for Research Training Fellowships this year? If yes, then the ERS Short-Term Fellowships are for you. Our Short-Term Fellowships are designed to comply with subsistence rates and there are 2 deadlines per year to submit applications. A decision can be expected 3 months after the submission deadline. Simply, it is the fastest and easiest way to carry out research techniques and activities in 2010. The fellowship is to be undertaken in a (European) country other than the candidate's own.
ERS/AIMAR (Italy) joint Short-Term Fellowships are now also available (4 Short-Term Fellowships per year). The qualifying candidate may be from Italy going to another European country or from Europe or overseas going to Italy. To apply for a joint Fellowship with AIMAR, please use the same online application form as that for the other ERS Fellowships.

This programme is funded by the ERS with the objective of enabling senior investigators and clinicians, who are in the established stages of their careers, to conduct short exchange visits in hospitals and university departments, in order to promote cooperation in the field of respiratory medicine. The Professorship is to be undertaken in a European country. Applications need to be submitted by the Host Coodinator representing the Host Institution which wishes to benefit from the Visiting Professor's expertise and competences. Host Institutions must be located in Europe, the Visiting Professor may however be European or non-European.

The ERS was pleased to announce the Postdoctoral ERS/Marie Curie Joint Research Fellowships (RESPIRE) under the EU Seventh Framework Programme (FP7) - Marie Curie Actions. The RESPIRE programme was supported through the FP7-Marie Curie Actions- PEOPLE-COFUND of the European Commission, Grant number PCOFUND-GA-2008-229571.
The RESPIRE programme aimed to enable promising PhD holders and postgraduates holding 4 years full-time research experience to carry out advanced research projects (1 year) in another European country. Applicants were required to have at least 1 first author publication in an international peer-reviewed journal at the time of application.
