DG SANCO's call for proposals 2007

DG SANCO has adopted the work plan for 2007 and the call for proposals is now open. DG SANCO operates a co-funding system; projects will only be funded up to a maximum of 60% of the total cost.

The deadline for project submission is May 21, 2007.

As from previous years, the programme consists of three main strands:
  • Health information
  • Health threats
  • Health determinants
Health information: activities under this section include the development of a sustainable health monitoring system, the improvement of a system of transfer and sharing of information and health data, and supporting the exchange of information on health technologies assessment.

Health threats: activities under this section aim to strengthen readiness and to ensure a rapid response to public health threats and emergencies, including the capacity to deal with a pandemic influenza and tackle particular health threats, and also including health security and strategies relevant to communicable diseases control.

Health determinants: activities under this section include actions to support tobacco control and drug-related activities, diseases and injuries prevention, and integrative approaches to lifestyles. In 2007, priority will be given to projects linked to, and in support of, EU policies and strategies on health determinants, notably on mental health, nutrition and physical activity, tobacco, drugs and environment and health. A specific focus will be on projects addressing good practice in conveying health-related life skills, in particular for children and young people, covering both risks and protective factors with an impact on lifestyles and behaviours.
