Faculty Disclosure Form
Faculty Disclosure FormThe ERS encourages support for individual physicians from industry and firmly believes that the existence of a link, real or perceived, between a speaker and the pharmaceutical industry, does not necessarily indicate a bias on the part of the speaker's presentation. However, it is ethically imperative that the audience is made aware of these links. This can be done through use of the Faculty Disclosure Form.
Annual Declaration of Interest
Declaration of Interest 2007It is a requirement for all members of the Society's committees, working parties and subcommittees to complete an annual Declaration of Interest (DoI) form. This requirement is based on Article IX of the ERS By-laws approved by the Council in September 2002.
Potential conflict of interest or failure to report a potential conflict of interest affecting an Officer, Chair of a Committee or the staff of the Society, will be referred to the ERS Disclosure Report Committee and a response given within 3 months.
It is recommended that all commercial and other activities, such as membership of Advisory Boards, be disclosed. Where there is doubt as to whether a real conflict of interest exists, the matter will be referred to the Disclosure Report Committee.
Members of all committees are asked to complete and return the DoI form to the Executive Director of the ERS by December 10, 2007. Thank you.

Guidelines for Commercial Support of ERS Meetings and ERS-Sponsored Meetings
Guidelines for Commercial SupportThe ERS, in agreement with the European Board for Accreditation in Pneumology (EBAP), recognises the necessity to define clear and fair rules for collaboration with industrial parties. The ERS believes in the ethical conduct of those involved in organising medical education and scientific activities. The following guidelines are meant to be a formal expression of basic principles acceptable by all parties.
Rules for Elections
All meetings organised, supported or sponsored by the ERS must conform to these rules. The ERS Executive Committee will not approve sponsorship of a meeting or event unless the organisers have provided the appropriate documentations and information.
