Rodrigo Andres Floto graduated from the MB-PhD programme at Cambridge University (UK) in 1997, undertook clinical training at the Royal Brompton, Hammersmith and Papworth Hospitals and, since 2002, has worked at the Cambridge Institute for Medical Research, supported by the Medical Research Council (UK). His research interests have focused on understanding basic mechanisms of receptor control of macrophage and dendritic cell function in order to elucidate the pathophysiology of both microbial (particularly mycobacterial) lung infection and autoimmune lung disease. The aim of this work is to develop novel therapeutic strategies for pulmonary autoimmunity, mycobacterial infections and bronchiectasis as part of the Respiratory Infection, Inflammation and Immunology service at Papworth Hospital.
