8th ERS Lung Science Conference 2010

Estoril 2010: March 26-28

Biology of gene-environment interactions in the lung

Aims of the Meeting

  • To present the very best of international lung science research
  • To highlight new discoveries likely to impact on the future of respiratory medicine
  • Mentorship: to encourage debate and interaction between young postdoctoral scientists and established investigators

Target audience

This conference will be important for both scientists and clinicians with an interest in the genetic basis of obstructive and interstitial lung disease.  Discussions will be about the genes that cause disease as well as the mechanisms by which the abnormal gene product causes the clinical phenotype.

Topics and scientific programme

  • Environment and lung disease
  • Smoking-related lung disease
  • Lung injury
  • Allergic lung disease
  • Lung development and infection
  • Cystic fibrosis

The updated scientific programme of the Conference is now available in PDF format
