Educational Aims

  There will be four main elements in the course:
  • didactic presentations of epidemiological principles;
  • practical exercises in evaluation and critical review;
  • hands-on experience of data entry, checking and statistical analysis;
  • group work on the development of the research protocol.

Target audience

  • Practitioners and scientists involved in research in respiratory health

Course Goals

At the end of the course, participants will be able to:
  • design, carry out and analyse a scientific research project in respiratory health (including clinical trials)
  • calculate sample size
  • manage and analyse data
  • use the computer package, EpiInfo
  • implement the research protocol in an international, collaborative structure
