June 20-22, 2008
Hochgebirgsklinik - Davos, Switzerland
Organisers: Robert Bals and Peter S. Hiemstra

Organised in collaboration with EuroCareCF

Scientific Programme

The aims of this research seminar are to bring together a group of established and young scientists from different areas of research (basic and clinical; pulmonology, microbiology, cystic fibrosis (CF), cell biology, immunology, infectious disease, etc.) related to the study of respiratory infections and their role in inflammatory lung diseases and CF. The aim is to cover a wide range of areas, including new developments in the characterisation of respiratory pathogens, host defence, COPD, CF, and asthma research and drug development. The format will be interactive, based on a combination of presentations and break-out sessions, where participants will discuss specific issues in small groups in which at least two of the faculty will act as discussion leaders. A special focus of the seminar will be on translational approaches to encourage interactions of basic and clinical disciplines.
