Educational Aims

The aims of this course are to:
  • provide an overview of all sleep-related breathing disorders
  • enable participants to inderstand the pathology and specific consequences of these disorders

Target Audience

  • trainee doctors
  • practising physicians

Course Goals

At the end of the course, participants will have a detailed knowledge of:
  • physiology of respiration during sleep
  • pathophysiology and mechanisms of OSA 
  • clinical symptoms of syndromes with cognitive, cardiovascular and metabolic consequences
  • diagnosis
  • CSA
  • obesity-hypoventilation syndrome
  • treatment strategies
  • practical issues
