The course will provide state-of-the art knowledge of:
- Basic aerosol science needed to deliver optimal clinical care
- Key issues of treating diseased airways
- Patient-related factors influencing efficacy on aerosol therapy
- Key factors to instruct and monitor technical skills of patients
- Paediatric and adult aspects of aerosol medicine
- Key factors related to regulatory issues
- Specific pharmacokinetic/dynamic issues related to medical aerosols

- Adult and paediatric pulmonologists
- Paediatricians with a focus on lung diseases
- Allied respiratory professionals responsible for training and evaluating aerosol therapy in patients
- Cystic fibrosis care givers
- Clinical fellows in training to become pulmonologists (adult and paediatric)
- Other healthcare workers with a focus on aerosol medicine
- Industrial representatives involved in the development or marketing of aerosol devices
Case presentations
You are strongly encouraged to submit cases for discussion during the case review period. For easy submission, please follow the steps below:
- Aerosol therapy should be the theme of the case study (delivery issues, target area issues, technical issues, etc.)
- Prepare your case study in a Word document of <200 words
- Give a clear description of the patient, including the clinical manifestations and any radiological pictures or pathological findings
- Include all images pertaining to the case study within the document
- State the questions which you would like to be discussed by the participants
- If your case study is selected, you will be asked to prepare a short PowerPoint presentation with a maximum of five slides

- Recognise pitfalls in aerosol therapy
- Judge research studies on aerosol therapy for their value and techniques used
- Advise healthcare workers on aerosol therapy
