Aims
- To provide a comprehensive understanding of the physiological basis of exercise testing
At the end of the course, participants will be able to:
- Recognise the indications and the protocols used in a clinical setting (i.e. incremental, constant work-rate)
- Discuss the clinical applications of exercise testing in lung and heart diseases
- Understand the utility of exercise testing in the prescription and evaluation of rehabilitation programmes
- Recognise the emerging importance of exercise testing in the prognostic setting
